John M Curtis
John Morrison Curtis
American
John M Curtis was a notable San Francisco architect and the younger partner in the influential firm Curtis and Bennett, which dominated the design of Northern California public buildings during the late 19th century. Renowned for his expertise in civic infrastructure, Curtis was the creative force behind several landmark structures, most notably the 1884 Sonoma County Courthouse in Santa Rosa. While many of his grand Victorian and Neoclassical designs have since disappeared due to urban renewal and natural disasters, his legacy persists through his contributions to the regional architectural identity of the Gold Rush era. - AsNotedIn
