Antonin Capek

Antonin Capek was a Czech doctor and the father of authors Karel and Josef Capek. Born 26 July 1855 to Josef and Frances Capek, Antonin Capek worked as a mining and spa doctor in Male Svatonovice and established a ethnographic museum in Upici. On 6 November 1884, he married Bozena Novotna (1866-1924), the daughter of Hronov miller Karel Novotny (1837-1900) and Helena Novotna (1841-1912). Antonin and Bozena had one daughter, Helena (1886-1961), she married Brno politician and lawyer Francis Kozeluha in 1904. Beginning in 1911 Antonin Capek severed as a spa doctor in Trencianske Teplice. After the death of his wife Bozena, Antonin lived with his son Karel until his death in 1929. - AsNotedIn
