Catharine Worthington Pearson

Catherine Pearson, born Catharine Worthington in 1791, was a member of a notable Georgetown family whose connections placed her at the center of early Washington society. The daughter of Dr Charles Worthington of Georgetown, DC, she married Hon Joseph Pearson, a North Carolina congressman who served in the US House from 1809 to 1815. Her family's political ties extended further through her eldest sister, Eliza Ann Worthington, who married Hon William Gaston, another North Carolina representative and later a distinguished judge. Catherine spent her later years in Washington and died in 1868, she is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery. - AsNotedIn
