307th Engineer Battalion
The 307th Airborne Engineer Battalion is a combat engineer unit of the 82nd Airborne Division based at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, trained for bridge construction, demolition, mine and tunnel warfare, and other engineering tasks that support land-force combat operations. The battalion traces its lineage to World War I, when the 307th Engineer Battalion fought in the Saint-Mihiel, Lorraine, and Meuse-Argonne Campaigns. It was during these operations that the unit earned its motto, "I Maintain the Right," after protecting the right flank of the 82nd Infantry Division and repulsing an attack by a numerically superior German force. - AsNotedIn
