Nancy Jenckes Brayton Peabody was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1853, the daughter of David Anthony Brayton and Nancy Jenckes Brayton. Educated at Vassar, she married Norman Easton Borden in 1874 and, after his death, wed Henry Wayland Peabody in 1892.
