Center Yourself in Osborne, Kansas

Osborne, set in north-central Kansas, developed as an agricultural region along the Solomon River valley, its early settlements forming a network of small towns and farmsteads across the High Plains. Downs, Natoma, Delhi and the county seat of Osborne each grew as local service centers, their civic and commercial blocks reflecting late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century development. Homesteaders began arriving in the 1870s, many from Europe and from communities across the Midwest, establishing the farms and ranches that shaped the county's rural economy. The region became known for landmarks such as the Natoma Presbyterian Church, the Osborne County Courthouse and the Geodetic Center of the United States southeast of Osborne.
