1774/00/00 William Buckland Architect Hammond-Harwood House is built for gentleman planter Matthias Hammond, but he never lived here.
1777/00/00 A final payment by HH House is made to Buckland's estate. John Randall, who apprenticed with Buckland in 1765 and stayed on with him as a journeyman, probably supervised the work after Buckland's death. Randall will later be mayor of Annapolis.
1784/00/00 Thomas Jefferson Artist During the winter of 1783-1784, Thomas Jefferson sketches a new design, inspired by careful study of Matthias Hammonds unoccupied house.
