1899/00/00 Sharon Center erects a new two-story school in rural Iowa. In an era when rural high schools are rare, the community takes on the daunting task of providing local advanced education for Johnson County.
1924/09/00 George M Ludwig Work Rev George M Ludwig and wife Alice arrive in Sharon Center, Iowa. As superintendent, Ludwig works with the State Superintendent of Education to officially accredit the local high school, a major milestone for rural Johnson County education.
1925/10/15 Arthur Ressler advances School Board No 5, Sharon Township, $95.16 for the purchase of seats for the high School. The receipt is signed by George M Ludwig, Principal and Calvin C Stutsman, President of the school board. The chairs are still in use today.
1929/12/00 George M Ludwig Work George M Ludwig ends his tenure as Sharon High superintendent and the family moves to Oxford, Iowa.
1944/06/00 Do to changing requirements of State Dept of Education, Sharon High School closes following the Spring Term.
1946/00/00 George M Ludwig Life George M Ludwig attends the auction of Sharon High School's contents following its closure. Delbert Miller, a 1928 graduate, serves as treasurer for the sale.
