1928/12/00 Kopf and Deery Architect Shortridge High School opens. Designed by the architectural and engineering firm of J Edwin Kopf and John A Deery in 1926, the structure was of built of red brick and grey Bedford limestone in the neo-classical revival style between 1927 and 1928.
1936/00/00 Kurt Vonnegut Education Vonnegut enters Shortridge where he becomes an editor for the school newspaper. "It just turned out that I could write better than a lot of other people", he said. He graduated in 1940.
