Rib Bridge is a stone bridge that spans the river Rib about 3km north of Rib Dam, east of the town of Addis Zemen on the road which leads to the town of Debre Tabor. The 120m long, seven arch, structure was erected during the reign of Emperor Susenyos to join Begemidir Awaraja (now North and south Gondar) with Gojjam. The strategic was route utilized by Emperor Fasilades, Emperor Susenyos and Emperor Tewodros II. The upper part of the bridge was filled with concrete and the arches and beams were covered with cement during the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, 1935 to 1941. - AsNotedIn
