1879/00/00 Hooper Strait Lighthouse is erected in the shallow, dangerous shoals of Hooper Strait in Chesapeake Bay. In 1966, the structure was cut in half and moved to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
1933/08/14 Newport News Shipbuilding Shipwright HUNTINGTON keel is laid and the steam powered tugboat is built by apprentice shipwrights at Newport News Shipyard. The boat was broken up in spring 2010 and scrapped. The pilot house and captain's quarters were sent to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
1965/00/00 Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum opens in three waterfront houses along St Michaels Harbor on Navy Point as a project of the Historical Society of Talbot County.
