Chapelle Huart is a small wayside shrine standing south of the commune of Clairfayts in the Nord department of northern France. Local tradition holds that Alexandre Huart and Valentine Leroy commissioned the roadside oratory after surviving a violent storm that forced them from their farm and into the surrounding fields. Believing their home spared through divine protection, they vowed to erect a chapel dedicated to Notre Dame de Carpe in gratitude. The modest structure remains a marker of rural devotion and the enduring custom of votive chapels across the Avesnois countryside. - AsNotedIn
