The Chapel of St Stephen is a medieval church in Bures St Mary, England. Originally built for the Abbot Sampson of Bury in the late C12 or early C13, the stone rubble building features heavy buttresses and fine lancet windows. The north side has a gabled entrance with exposed timber-framing and brick nogging. Inside, the chapel contains handsome tombs of the De Vere family that were originally installed at Colne Priory in Earls Colne, Essex. - AsNotedIn
