Squeeze Inn is a hamburger eatery in Napa, California, notable for the Squeezeburger with Cheese, a hamburger patty grilled with a large handful of melting cheese. It is a surviving franchise of the original Squeeze Inn, the Sacramento burger joint that cooked its patties on a griddle under a mound of cheddar, topped with a bun and steamed beneath a metal cover surrounded by ice chips. The cheese spills beyond the patty creating a skirt around the burger. The original Squeeze Inn, featured on the Food Network series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, once stood at 5301 Power Inn Road in a tiny building just large enough for the grill kitchen and twelve stools. After two lawsuits over handicapped access to the old building, owner Travis Hausauer closed the original eatery and moved to nearby Galt, California, which itself closed in early 2026. The Sacramento building has since been lost, and the site is now occupied by a strip mall. - AsNotedIn
Let's talk about that burger. Known as the Squeeze with Cheese, this isn't just a burger with cheese on top — it's an experience. The burger is cooked to juicy perfection and then smothered in a mound of shredded cheddar cheese that melts and crisps around the edges, forming what's affectionately known as a cheese skirt. It's beautiful, it's wild, and it's as delicious as it sounds.
