The Segovia Aqueduct is a Roman-era water system in Segovia, Spain, part of a 1st-century AD hydraulic network designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its most dramatic feature is the bridge section at the Plaza del Azoguejo, where the arches rise to nearly 30 meters (98 feet) and form one of antiquity's great engineering achievements. Built of massive granite blocks set without mortar or cement, the structure relies entirely on gravity and precise balancing of its two tiers of arches.
