Transscandinanavian Igneous Belt (TIB) is a physiographic landform of the European continent which contains a bedrock of largely undeformed granitoids and associated porphyries formed in at least three different episodes between c 1850 and 1650 Ma ago. Exposed from Smaland, part of the Baltic Shield land formation in southern Sweden, through Varmland and western Dalarna, TIB extends under much of the Caledonian mountains up to northern Scandinavia. - AsNotedIn
