A bronze statue (lost) of General Louis Desaix by Claude Dejoux is inaugurated on the Place des Victoires. Commissioned by Napoleon, the unpopular nude sculpture will be removed and melted down for an Equestrian statue of Henry IV on the Pont Neuf.
