Firminy Vert is an unfinished residential development in Firminy, France, consisting of a cultural center with a small stadium, a church and a large apartment building. The church, Eglise Saint-Pierre, wasn't constructed until decades later and only one of the three planned apartment buildings was built. The buildings were designed in the 1950s by Swiss architect Le Corbusier for an expected population influx that never arrived. The Maison de la Culture is a contributing component of the The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier, an Outstanding Contribution to the Modern Movement UNESCO World Heritage Site. - AsNotedIn
