An Easy Self-guided Walk in the Heart of Bruges Belgium

Walk the Heart of Bruges is an easy walk through the neighborhoods around the Dijver and Groenerei Canals.

Beginning at De Burg plaza, walk west down Breidelstraat to Wollestraat. The Market Square is on the right. Turn left on Wollestraat, walk to the intersection with Kartuizerinnenstraat where you can turn left and stroll out to Viewpoint Passage Bourgondisch Cruyce. Backtrack and head down Kartuizerinnenstraat, follow it around until it ends, turn left on Oude Burg and follow it until Simon Stevinplein.

Walk south down Mariastraat to the Church of Our Lady, turn left then make a quick right at the rear of the church (before the Gruuthusemuseum) and follow the path over the Boniface Bridge. Walk through Arentshof Park to Dijver and turn right. After Dijver becomes Rozenhoedkaai, turn left into Huidenvettersplein and exit the far side of the plaza on to Steenhouwersdijk.

Here you can take a short cut back to the starting point: turn left, walk over the Blinde-Ezelbrug bridge and take Blinde-Ezelbrug back to De Burg. Or:

Walk down Steenhouwersdijk, keeping the Groenerei Canal on your left, until it becomes Groenerei and follow it around to Predikherenstraat. Turn left, cross Predikherenbridge, turn left on Predikherenrei, right on to Hoogstraat which leads back to De Burg plaza. - AsNotedIn
