The Golden City by the River
Colegial is the southern half of the Old City of Salamanca, Spain, and contains the most iconic architectural landmarks within the UNESCO World Heritage site. This district is anchored by the University of Salamanca — one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Europe — and the unique Salamanca Cathedrals, where the New Cathedral and Old Cathedral stand joined together. The Convent of San Esteban notable for its spectacular 16th–century Plateresque facade. Near the riverbank, visitors can explore the Art Nouveau & Art Deco Museum, housed in the beautiful Casa Lis, and cross the ancient Roman Bridge that spans the Tormes River.
