A Victorian Steadfast Postal Box
The Penfold Pillar Box outside the Royal Mail North West District Office in Camden Town is a Grade II listed cast-iron hexagonal box designed by J W Penfold and manufactured by Cochrane and Co. It is painted red and features a beaded frieze, an acanthus-enriched top with bud finial, the Royal coat of arms above the posting aperture, the words Post Office flanking the mouth, and the intertwined VR cipher beneath the frame for the time plate. - AsNotedIn
