Serbian Cuisine, Shoreline Park and Seasonal Beer Gardens

Bay View is a Milwaukee neighborhood south of downtown, set along the Lake Michigan shoreline and known for blending historic charm with a lively social scene, independent shops and waterfront parks. The community first develops around a natural bay and the iron and steel mill introduced in 1867, forming a distinct village identity that persists even after annexation into Milwaukee. Although only about three miles from the city's commercial center, Bay View maintains a separate character due to natural and industrial barriers. The Kinnickinnic River and the Menomonee Industrial Valley long limited direct access, with Kinnickinnic Avenue serving as the sole connection until the Dan Hoan Bridge opened in 1977. Residential streets mix early-1900s worker cottages, modest Victorian homes and mid-century bungalows, creating one of Milwaukee's most architecturally varied neighborhoods. Along the lakefront, South Shore Park offers sunrise views, a farmers market and a summer beer garden. Humboldt Park hosts outdoor concerts and seasonal beer garden, while the Oak Leaf Trail provides 125 miles of multi-use paths linking Bay View to Milwaukee's broader lakefront network, and more summer beer gardens. - AsNotedIn
