The Roma Nomentano Post Office, built between 1933 and 1935 and inaugurated in October 1935, is one of the most refined examples of Italian Rationalist architecture in Rome. Designed by Mario Ridolfi with Mario dell'Arco and engineer Gioacchino Luigi Mellucci, the building formed part of a citywide plan to decentralize public services beyond the historic center. Its distinctive double-curved facade, clad in horizontal travertine slats, gives the structure a sculptural presence on Piazza Bologna.
