The Tyne Bridge is a Grade II listed road bridge spanning the River Tyne between Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. Completed in 1928, the steel arch structure became the defining symbol of Tyneside, its great parabolic arch echoing the form of Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was built by the same firm.
