Prince's Wharf and Wapping Wharf form a continuous quay along the northern side of Spike Island in Bristol, England. Stretching for about half a mile beside the Floating Harbour, the waterside walk runs from Wapping Road to the SS GREAT BRITAIN Ferry Landing, passing the M Shed museum, Bristol Harbour Railway, historic vessels and surviving dockside equipment before reaching the entrance to the SS Great Britain, the pioneering passenger steamship launched in 1843.
Prince's Wharf and Wapping Wharf are Grade II listed structures designed by Thomas Howard, Docks Engineer. Built of granite and Pennant stone, they incorporate cast-iron bollards, granite kerbs, and Pennant rubble walls. The quay walls were constructed chiefly of concrete using hydraulic lime and Portland cement, with stone and granite facing that reflects Bristol's maritime and industrial heritage. - AsNotedIn
