1970/05/15 Neil Young is inspired to write the lyrics to "Ohio" after seeing John Filo's photos of the Kent State shootings in a Life Magazine, published 15 May 1970, that he received from David Crosby.
1970/05/21 Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young record "Ohio" at Plant Studios No 3 in Los Angeles.
1970/06/00 "Ohio" is released as a single. The B-side, is Stephen Stills's ode to the war's dead, "Find the Cost of Freedom".
