Empress Eugenie's Bow Brooch by Francois Kramer is an antique diamond stomacher (a decoration pinned to the chest that extends down to the waist) made for the wife of Napoleon III, Empress Eugenie. Originally created as a buckle for a diamond belt, the brooch was later extended by adding five diamond pastilles (a cascade of pendant stones) and a pair of diamond tassels. In 1887, the French Government sold the French Crown Jewels during a public auction at the Louvre. In 2008, the Louvre acquired Empress Eugenie's Bow Brooch in a private sale due to the efforts of the Louvre, the Friends of the Louvre and the heritage fund (Fonds du Patrimoine). The French crown jewel is now in the museum's Royal collections. - AsNotedIn
