1881/11/18			Rodolphe Salis opens the "Le Chat Noir" cabaret doors at 84 Boulevard de Rochechouart, at the foot of the Montmartre butte in Paris.
1885/06/10	Adolphe L Willette	Artist	Rodolphe Salis relocates the "Le Chat Noir" cabaret to 12 rue de Laval (now rue Victor-Masse) in Montmartre. At sometime, Adolphe Willette will design a metal sign for the venue.
1897/04/00			The "Le Chat Noir" cabaret closes after the death of Rodolphe Salis in 1897.
1897/04/00	Adolphe L Willette	Artist	At the Hotel de ville, Adolphe Willette is awarded first prize for his cut sheet metal signs: "Le Chat Noir", "L'One Rouge" and "Le Noir et le Blanc" at the Concours des ensigns artistiques conceived by the painter Edouard Detaille.	Hotel de Ville de Paris	Paris
