Six Companies Inc was a consortium of contractors organized by Harry Morrison, president of Morrison-Knudson Co, and Henry J Kaiser to construct Hoover Dam. The consortium was created because no one company by itself could raise the $5 million for the performance bond. The Six Companies were Morrison-Knudsen Co, the Wattis brother's Utah Construction Co, J F Shea Co, Pacific Bridge Co, MacDonald and Kahn Ltd and a joint venture of W A Bechtel Co, Henry J Kaiser and Warren Brothers of Cambridge Massachusetts. - AsNotedIn
