1744/00/00 James Screven is born in Charleston, South Carolina. Born
1776/10/00 James Screven resigns from the Georgia Committee of Safety in order to join the military, becoming Colonel of the 3rd Georgia Battalion of Continentals and local magistrate for the parish of St Johns. Military
1778/11/22 At Spencers Hill, Screven and White halt their forces and make a speech about the fight. After the speeches Brown and his 32 Rangers fire on the Patriots, wounding General Screven and James Jackson. Brown captures Screven. Wounded
1778/11/24 Screven dies a few miles from his Midway plantation. Dr James Dunwody was present at his death. A native of Liberty County and member of Midway Congregation, Screven was buried in the Midway Church Cemetery on Row A Grave 1. Died Midway Historic District Midway Battle at Midway Church
