Both Ethan A Dennison ( 1881-1954) and Frederic C Hirons (1883-1942) studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris before establishing their partnership in 1910. During the next two decades, their work included designs for banks and office buildings throughout the Northeast. Important commissions included the 22 - story Art Deco Style Home Savings Bank (1927) in Albany, New York; the Beaux - Arts Style Delaware Trust Building (1921-1930) in Wilmington, Delaware; the Romanesque Style Erie Trust Company Building (1926) in Erie, Pennsylvania; the Art Deco Style Federal Trust Company Building in Newark, New Jersey; the City National Bank in Bridgeport, Connecticut; the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in New York, a New York City Landmark; and the Suffolk Title and Guarantee Company Building in Queens, New York, also a New York City Landmark. - NRHP
