The Village of Moravia is a small town located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, situated at the southern end of Owasco Lake within Cayuga County. About 5 miles southeast of the town center is the birthplace of the 13th US President, Millard Fillmore, but nothing remain at the Millard farm. As a boy, future business tycoon John D Rockefeller lived at what is now the intersection of Rockefeller Road and Fire lane 33, about 4 miles north of the village. The Rockefeller house burned down in 1924. The Owasco Inlet river and Mill Creek converge near the village center and flow north through the Owasco Flats wetland preserve. Directly south of town is the Fillmore Glen State Park, which features a deep limestone gorge and waterfalls. A fine replica of the Millard Fillmore Birthplace Cabin is located in the state park. - AsNotedIn
