1777/11/00 Capt Ebenezer Faxon Benefactor Capt Ebenezer Faxon and friends plant a grove of 13 elms (lost), one for each colony, at New Britain Avenue (then called South Street) and South Quaker Lane (East Street) as a lasting monument to British General Johnny Burgoyne's defeat at Saratoga.
1779/00/00 Capt Ebenezer Faxon Work Continental army quartermaster buys tow cloth, a mixture of wool and linen, from Ebenezer Faxon, for soldiers stationed at a Patriot campsite on Albany Avenue up Talcott Mountain. Some of the original fireplaces remain.
