1838/00/00 Charles Edmondston suffers economic reversals during the Panic of 1837 and sells his house to Charles Alston. Alston updates the house in the Greek Revival style, adding the 3rd story piazza with Corinthian columns and a cast-iron balcony. Panic of 1873
