1912/00/00 Carrington main house is built c 1912 as a summer home by Frederick Marquet, the cottage is associated with the earliest wave of development of Fire Island as a popular recreational destination.
1927/00/00 Frank Carrington, a prominent theater director and patron of the arts with a large circle of acquaintances whom he will introduce to Fire Island, acquires the Marquet property.
1947/00/00 Carrington buys two outbuildings from the abandoned Lone Hill Lifesaving Station and combines and reconfigures them as a guesthouse.
1950/00/00 Carrington constructs a garage, said to be the only one built historically in Cherry Grove or the Pines since cars have never been in general us in this part of Fire Island.
1955/07/06 Truman Capote Author Truman Capote joins Mr Jack and his two dogs at an isolated, rented cabin on Fire Island. Rested and eager to write, Capote settles down to work on something called "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Breakfast at Tiffany's (book)
