Visit Mount Rainier National Park
Washington State's iconic Mount Rainier is an active volcano located less than 60 miles from Seattle. It's rugged peak is covered with glaciers that feed six major rivers, but the wildflower meadows and ancient forest on the lower slopes are much easier to explore. In July and August Mount Rainier National Park is usually sunny and mild, but expect rain the rest of the year. Just bring a jacket anytime you visit.
