Significant as a surviving small scale c 1795 brick federal period dwelling, originally the home of Ozias Goodwin (1755-1819), Captain and ship-owner who was involved in the East India Trade. Goodwin's partial ownership included the Diana (by 1790), and later the Camillus, Dolphin, and Mary. Goodwin's other positions included serving on the Board of Health, Ward 1-(T803), as Overseer of the Poor (1804-1818), as a Fire Warden (1804-1808), and also on the Board of Directors of New England Marine Insurance Co (1810-1819). The family moved in 1807 to Middlecot St (now Bowdoin). Goodwin's widow sold the Jackson Ave house in 1821 to Ammi Cutter. - NRHP
