1887/00/00 Thomas Franklin Schneider Architect Forest Inn, a resort hotel with fine dining and live entertainment, opens. Designed by architect Thomas F Schneider and constructed by W P Lipscomb.
1894/00/00 John and Vesta Cassedy, former educators at the Norfolk College for Young Women in Virginia, purchase the former Forest Inn and casino and establish an exclusive finishing school.
1894/00/00 Emily Elizabeth Holman Architect Eight sorority clubhouses are built between 1894 and 1904. Most buildings at the National Park Seminary are designed by E E Holman (but not the 1927 ballroom).
1898/00/00 Emily Elizabeth Holman Architect Chapel and the Aloha Dormitory are constructed. The Miller Library (1901), the Odeon Theater (1907) and gymnasium (1907) are also built.
1942/00/00 US Army requisitions National Park College via the War Powers Act for use as a convalescent facility. Roy Tasco Davis, a Missouri educator and former US minister to Panama and Costa Rica, who ran the college was paid $855,000 for the property.
1954/00/00 Between 1954 and 1973, US servicemen are exposed to a variety of virulent diseases: yellow fever, hepatitis A, Q fever and the plague in the effort to develop vaccines.
