1904/00/00 MOSHULU is built by the William Hamilton and Co of Glasgow, Scotland for the G J H Siemers Co of Hamburg, Germany as the four-masted barque KURT.
1917/00/00 US Navy seizes the KURT as prize booty. It is renamed MOSHULU by Mrs Woodrow Wilson to honor the Native American (Seneca Indian Tribe) meaning "One who Fears Nothing".
