1915/09/15 Ralph Adams Cram Architect According to a newspaper article, Ralph Cram has spent nearly 7 months on the plans for the Sacred Heart Cathedral. It was said that the pastor, Father Handly, had performed a personal favor for Cram so the design was repayment of that favor.
1916/00/00 George Melville Stone Painter George M Stone completes 4 murals at the Sacred Heart: Crucifixion of Jesus Christ (26 sq ft, behind the altar), and 3 lunettes over the doors of the vestibule which depict the Good Samaritan, the Good Shepherd and the Angels at the Tomb.
1916/08/02 Cram and Ferguson Architect Bishop Hennessy dedicates Sacred Heart in front of a large crowd, including Catholics and many non-Catholics. The citizens of Dodge City are supporter of the effort to build a church in keeping with the progress of the Queen City of the Short Grass.
