1855/00/00 Delaware Railroad Owner As the Delaware Railroad moves southward, the Clayton Railroad Station is built c 1855 at a small settlement called Jimtown, near Smyrna, an agrarian.
1885/00/00 Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad Owner The offices and shops of The Delaware Division of the PW and B are moved to Clayton. As the division headquarters, Clayton will become one of Delaware's largest railroad centers.
