1903/01/00 Carnegie Corporation Benefactor Andrew Carnegie announces his donation of $10,000 for the Perry Library in January 1903.
1903/07/00 Liebbe, Nourse and Rasmussen Architect Plans were approved in July 1903 for the Perry Carnegie Library and Courtney and Bolt, contractors of Perry, are awarded the contract. Construction began in July 1903 and the new library opened in September 1904.
1904/12/19 Albert B Cummins Dignitary Governor Cummins of Iowa gives the keynote address at the dedication of the Perry Carnegie Library. Ceremonies were held at the opera house, followed by a reception at the library with the Opera House Orchestra playing in the background.
1908/00/00 William Jennings Bryan Presidential Candidate William Jennings Bryan, running for US President against William Howard Taft, gives a speech from the steps of the Perry Carnegie Library.
