1850/04/00 Collis P Huntington Work In the Spring of 1850, C P Huntington arrives in San Francisco and moves to Sacramento where he opens a store with Daniel Hammond under the firm name of "Huntington, Hammond and Co" at 54 K Street.
1851/00/00 Leland Stanford Owner Three separate structures, the Stanford Building, Huntington and Hopkins Hardware, and the Miller Building are built, adjacent to the Sacramento River waterfront, 1851-1852.
1852/12/00 Mark Hopkins Work Immediately after the November fire, the firm of Hopkins and Miller put up a 2-story brick building at 50 K Street as wholesale merchants. Moses Hopkins clerks for the firm.
1852/12/00 52 K Street is built immediately after the fire of 2 November 1852. In 1880 the numbering system will changed, the addresses will become 220 K Street.
1852/12/15 Collis P Huntington Owner Having rebuilt his brick store at 54 K Street, C P Huntington reopens with Daniel Hammond as partner in "Huntington, Hammond and Co". Their next door neighbor to the east is the Stanford Brothers and two doors to the west is Hopkins and Miller.
1855/05/01 Mark Hopkins Work Collis Huntington and Mark Hopkins form a mercantile partnership.
1855/05/01 Huntington and Hopkins Company Owner Huntington and Hopkins open a hardware store at 54 K Street. Re-numbered in 1880 to 220-222 K St, the store will be demolished and rebuilt at this site in 1970 due to the erecting of the I-5.
1855/05/01 Collis P Huntington Work C P Huntington and Mark Hopkins form the business partnership of Huntington and Hopkins. Huntington will use the 2nd floor of 54 K Street as living quarters until his duties as Vice President of the Central Pacific Railroad required him to move.
1860/00/00 Huntington and Hopkins Company Owner Huntington and Hopkins buy the property at 52 K Street. For the next three years they will use the combined address 52 and 54 K Street.
1868/00/00 Albert Gallatin of Sacramento Work Albert Gallatin becomes a partner at Huntington, Hopkins and Co.
1878/00/00 Huntington and Hopkins Company Growth Huntington, Hopkins and Co buy the Stanford building.
1880/00/00 Huntington and Hopkins Company Growth Huntington, Hopkins and Co combined all three of their adjacent buildings into one property.
