1793/00/00 Transylvania trustees accepts the donation of College Lot, now known as Gratz Park, in return for relocating the school from Danville, KY, to Lexington.
1811/00/00 Francis Preston Blair Education Francis Preston Blair graduates from Transylvania College (lost) in Lexington, Kentucky. The main school building was destroyed by a fire in 1829 in what is now Gratz Park.
1816/00/00 Matthew Kennedy Architect A new Main Building (lost) is erected, 1816-1818, at the northern end of the Transylvania campus to house most of the college's functions. The so called "Kitchen" was probably not a kitchen at all, as its fireplaces are too small for large-scale cooking.
1817/11/00 Dr Benjamin W Dudley Work Dr Benjamin Dudley becomes professor of anatomy and surgery at Transylvania Medical School in Lexington, Kentucky. Classes begin on the first Monday of November and close on the first of March.
1825/00/00 Rev James Craik Education James Craik enters Transylvania College to study medicine, but soon switches his studies to law. In 1826 he will leave college to establish a law practice in Kanawha County, Virginia.
1825/05/16 Marquis de Lafayette Guest of Honor Lafayette attends a military parade, speaks at Transylvania University and at the Lexington Female Academy in Lexington KY, May 16-17 Lafayette's Triumphal Tour of America
1829/00/00 Transylvania College's main building is destroyed by fire. 'The Kitchen' in Gratz Park is the only surviving building from the campus. The college will move across Third Street to its current location.
