1902/01/00 Robert H Robertson Architect Society for the Lying-In Hospital opens a modern maternity facility which can serve "250 patients, and, as the patients are usually discharged in two weeks, the total capacity of the hospital will be about 6,500 a year." The New York Times
1920/04/18 James Wright Markoe Died Dr James Markoe dies of his wounds soon after arriving at Society for the Lying-In Hospital, the facility he had persuaded J P Morgan to fund.
