1878/00/00 A fine hotel, known as the Anchor House, is completed for Joseph Arano, at the Aptos depot on the Santa Cruz Railroad, and about 100 yards from the beach, on a nice level plateau, between two of the finest trout streams in the State.
1895/00/00 The principal hotel is owned and kept by the Aranos, whose Spanish dinners are famous." Famous guests include Lillian Russell, King Kalakaua and many European visitors.
1946/00/00 Fred Toney and a crew of local workers to move the Bayview Hotel about 60 feet north and west. Toney updates the inn with modern plumbing and electric lights, but keeps the marble fireplaces and other interior features.
