1940/05/00 Koberling and Fleming Architect Conceived using a $20,000 bond passed by the community and $33,000 in WPA funds, plans were drawn up for the new building by the Tulsa architectural firm of Koberling and Fleming in May 1940.
1940/07/00 In response to plans for a building with a larger auditorium, the Chandler applies for more WPA funds. $50,213 WPA dollars are approved with the Chandler paying $28,200. By November, over 100 WPA workmen are working on the foundation.
1941/08/00 Works Progress Administration (WPA) Government Program Due to a miscalculation by the architect, moremoney is requested from the community through a five mill levy. By August 1941, the WPA allocated an $19,547 to the project with the district contributing $4,713.
1942/09/07 By January 1942, Fred Corley, the new project superintendent, estimates that by using extreme care the project might be finished without additionalexpense. Two years after construction began, Chandler High opens although the building was not complete.
