1891/00/00 Jerome Bibb Legg Architect Construction begins on the Sturdivant Bank at 101 N Main Street. Robert Sturdivant hired St Louis architect Jerome B Legg to design the three-story brick building with the bank on the first floor and various offices above.
1893/03/01 Henry C Ossenkop Contractor Designed in the Romanesque Revival style by Jerome Bibb Legg and built by Henry C Ossenkop, the Sturdivant Bank Building at 101 N Main Street opens for occupation.
1910/00/00 Mottharts Business College, and Cape Girardeau Bell Telephone Co occupy the 3rd floor of the Sturdivant Building at 101 N Main Street.
1910/00/00 Western Union Telegraph Company Office The 2nd floor of the Sturdivant Building at 101 N Main Street is occupied by Western Union Telegraph Co, Christian Science Society, Dr M Rosenthal, Frisco Claim Agents, Vandivort and Vasterling Insurance, M A Dempsey law office and Ed Drum law office.
1930/00/00 The Sturdivant Bank relocates to the H and H Building on Broadway. The bank will operate there until 1932 when it closes its doors due to effects of the Depression.
