Chuckwalla Mountains Wilderness

The Chuckwalla Mountains Wilderness is a 112,326 acre wilderness preserve managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It is located just south of Desert Center and 40 miles west of Blythe in Riverside County, California. The wilderness includes mountains, steep-walled canyons, washes, isolated rock outcrops and desert regions. The preserve protects uniquely and diverse plant and wildlife species such as Bighorn sheep, burro deer, coyotes, desert tortoise, fox and raptors. - AsNotedIn
