1955/00/00 Les Paul Designer On the site of the Capitol Studios, digging begins on the Capitol Records Building. Designed by innovator Les Paul, the echo chambers are subterranean concrete bunkers that are located 30 ft underground that can provide reverb that lasts up to 5 seconds.
1956/02/22 Frank Sinatra Performer From February 22 to March 15, 1956, Frank Sinatra records the first album at Capitol Studios, "Frank Sinatra Conducts Tone Poems of Color".
1956/04/00 Louis Murray Naidorf Architect The Capitol Records Building opens. Leila Morse, the granddaughter of Samuel Morse, turns on the red light located atop the 90-foot roof spire. The light continuously blinks the word "Hollywood" in Morse code.
